View Full Version : Intelligent app for finding album titles, fixing genres, etc?

The new album view has made me realize how skankily organized and poorly labeled my itunes library is.

I have dozens of albums that I hand ripped years ago that don't have album titles, or that have odd album titles that album artwork cannot be found for...
(example: I bought a CD that came with a Bonus CD, tons of tracks from various artists... so all of the songs from that album have no artwork...)

Is there an app out there that would analyze the song name, go off to a DB and tag your song with the most relevant album?

Also, many of my albums have bizarre genre info. I blame the CDDB for this. Is there any way to unify the genre of say all albums or songs by a particular artist? Some of my NIN and Black Sabbath have come through labeled as Children's music.

If this app doesn't exist, any devs on here want to write it? I'd pay $20 for something like this and I'm sure others would too. (even though the iPhone app store has seemingly made everyone think all software should be free or 99 cents)

I've been using Coverscout for some time. http://www.equinux.com/us/products/coverscout/index.html

Looks like that just hunts down album art... I need something that basically intelligently fixes song meta tags. Album art is secondary at this point.

iEatBrains looks close to what I want... but I think it's not compatible with iT8 yet. (rather obviously since iT8 came out today)
