Lag/jagged fonts in Word after Panther install

Hi,

Word was working fine for me under Jaguar.

Following a Panther (clean) install, fonts are jagged, and scrolling and window resizing are extremely laggy.

I haven't noticed these problems in any other apps.

I'm running 10.3.2 on a 700Mhz G3 iBook w/ 384MB RAM.

Any ideas?

I can help you with the jagged fonts problem. I suspect the cause lies in your font smoothing settings (located in System Preferences, I believe). Try changing the font smoothing setting to see if that fixes the problem.

Have you installed the latest Office update (http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/DOWNLOAD/OFFICEX/OfficeX_1015.xml&secid=5&ssid=15&flgnosysreq=True)?

I don't know if that will solve your problem, but it probably won't hurt.
