Has anyone had any luck triggering "software instruments" (aka. the software synth) with anything aside from a keyboard?
I've been trying to get my Roland V-drums to trigger -something-, but I've had no luck.
MIDI, is MIDI, is MIDI, there -must-, be a way to do this. Any thoughts? 1/4inch audio-in sucks.

here (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13721)...
Might solve the problem, i know it did when using Mighty MIDI as a .mid-Player! ;-)

My guess is that your drum kit is transmitting on MIDI channel 10, the default for drum tracks. GarageBand is probably limited to channel 1, which most keyboards default to. If you can change your transmit channel to 1 (which the V-Drums should be able to do easily in some configuration menu...) then I believe it will work.
You may also have to experiment with how your kit sends each instrument, whether it is as different notes or different channels. My guess would be notes, but then that may not translate into the same samples in GB, although it's probably the General MIDI spec, where a low C is a kick, D is a snare, F# a hi-hat, etc.
Good luck, this would be great if it works!

I plugged in a Boss Dr. Rhythm and it triggered everything fine. Its much easier for me to tap out drums on pads rather than keys.
