As a City worker (not a trader though) I'd have to say that this is the exception not the rule. The only reason that this guy got so much money is because he made Goldmans even more. Most traders are not this good so don't get paid anything like so much.

The chances are that this guy would not even think about quiting. Traders can be total workaholics (especially the good ones). He probably won't even enjoy the money!

If I ever won the Lotto I wouldn't even dream of retiring.... I can't imagine not being a designer, and not being creative on a daily basis.
The only thing that would change, is that I'd be able to move between multiple homes in multiple cities around the world to do my work... ;)
