i had my first crash on panther

just had my first crash on panther. i was playing mohaa. did cmd+h. so the window got small. then i did cmd+q. and the screen just froze. couldnt even shut down. finally i had to hold down the power button...
i called up apple and they said probably game was using too much ram.. i have a g4 ibook 640 mb ram...:((

I don't know why that would be. I had a weird dream last night that Panther kept crashing. What time did your computer crash?

That would probably be too much OpenGL RAM. Turn down some video settings a bit, especially if it occurs in the same spot (something visually intense) repeatedly.

I wish my PowerBook would crash, because I need it powered down to clean it.

Yeah - I had my first crash (since moving to OSX about 8 months ago) on Panther yesterday too - just froze in the middle of closing a finder window. I suppose I can't complain but I hope it doesn't become a reglular thing.

As a an aside: I really like Panther - but I am sure un-impressed with its new networking - heaps of probs on mixed network.
