Hi
I was wondering how memory is measured. I.E. how many megabytes are in a gigabyte, how many gigabites in a terrabyte, how many terabytes in a teraflop, etc.

8 bits = 1 Byte
1024 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte
1024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte
1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte
1024 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte
1024 Terabytes = 1 Petabyte
There has been an argument among disk manufacturers and consumers about what a Gigabyte is, manufacturers call 1000 megs a gig, but Mac OS (and windows) say that 1024 megs are a gig, so formatted sizes are different, this really annoys people, and has been the subject of some very heated threads.
