iPod touch Cannot Connect My ipod Touch To My MacBook Pro By Wi Fi

I have followed the instructions as in the help screens regarding Internet Sharing & setting up a password & network name through the Airport menu.

Though the ipod Touch finds the network & connects OK, when I try using Safari or the App Store on the Touch it keeps saying it cannot connect to the internet.

Any idea what is wrong?
 
Seems like I have people stumped on this.

I did a Google search on this issue & the guidance their was more or less the same as the help screens so their must be some other issue here?
 
I've not tried wirelessly connecting my iPod to my MacBook.

It does, however, connect fine to the wireless network, and I can access the internet through it.
