Can someone please post the direct link for the 2.1 upgrade for the iPhone 3G? We are on satellite internet at home with a 400 meg limit so I need to download it while at work. I think this might be it but I am not savvy enough to be sure:

Just wondering, how do you get the .ipsw file to work with iTunes after the download ?
Do you drag it to the iTunes folder or something ?
Thanks in advance.

Hold Shift, click restore, select the file
Edit: It's SHIFT not ALT

Hold Alt, click restore, select the file
I believe you can also put the file in the iTunes folder & it will see it but I don't remember off the top of my head what the path is.

Holding shift doesn't work for me. I hold alt+click Restore and it goes to browse to the file but when I choose the .ipsw folder, it just tries to open the folder, instead of initializing the update procedure.
help?

I figured out why iTunes would not recognize the .ipsw file. Vista associated it with a zip file for some reason. I copied the filename into the open file window and then added .zip after .ipsw.
I am at work and my mac is at home so I was forced to use a PC. :(
Hope this helps!

I downloaded this and it was automatically extracted into a folder. I'm on OS X 10.5.4, so is this normal behavior? Shift + click on 'Restore' should work, right?
