Seems 2.1 is having some good changes with dropped calls and 3G reception coverage. Not to mention, consistent "open times" on applications
I am happy to hear that this update is fairly significant. Hope to hear good news from the dev team by next week. This is one update I am looking forward to getting once jailbroken.
Come on Dev Team work your magic!

if you try it you'd be playing with fire. although i guess there is no harm in at least seeing if it will make the ipsw in pwnagetool.

I'll wait to see what they say on it. I don't feel like giving up my customization.

I wouldn't even attempt it as it could easily corrupt the iPhone firmware in a terrible manner.
Has anyone tried to see if Quickpwn will recognize the 2.1 IPSW?

It wont corrupt anything beyond a restore repair. All you do is simply replace a single file on the iphone to have it show cydia and installer.
If it fails i just drop into DFU and restore to a base 2.1.
Im not worried.
You dont have quickpwn recognize a 2.1 firmware. You put 2.0.2 in the directory and it will still pwn the phone. Apple cant stop pwning.

I'm still blown away with how uber-confident you are with being able to drop into DFU and restore to base. I've been following these boards the last couple of months but still can't muster up the courage to JB my 3G :(

i was worried about it to but i said #$% take my risk . But actually its not bad at all. ITs very simple to jailbreak a 3g. Takes about 5 clicks and your files are pre made by companies to help you do it much easier , read the first thread .
