Does anyone else have this problem? I set NewNewsWire to never keep read items, but when I read items they just seem to never dissapear. Does anyone know if I am just doing something wrong?

You're not alone - this happens to me, too. I think it's a bug in the latest version, and I hope they address it in the next update.

Yeah definitely an annoying bug.

I gave up and moved on to Web Feeds. It holds read items for a while as well, but they do go away when new items are downloaded, and it's much easier to sort through

This is a known issue in the latest released which apparently wasn't caught by testers before the release. Brent has fixed the issue in 1.0.10 and uploaded the new version to Apple for review. See this post: http://forum.newsgator.com/Topic42770-71-1.aspx

Excellent. Thanks for posting that - it's good to know a fix is on the way, though I'm guessing Apple will take its sweet time "approving" it before they release it, as usual.

Of course they will  but hopefully we should see it by mid-week. :apple: FTW

Good to see there's a fix imminent for this - was thinking I was doing something wrong!

The update (1.0.10) is on the App Store this morning.
