I would love to know the same. I've been waiting for this app for some time but no news the last 6 weeks.

This app got SO much coverage and still no release on iTunes and no follow up (that I know about). Anyone in contact with the developers? Inside scoop? The official word is that Apple is OK with VOIP, I believe Truphone is already released on the store, but still no iCall. Even a definite "No" from Apple would be something.

Funny, I just Emailed them this morning asking what the status was, and received the following response:
Thank you for your interest in iCall for the iPhone. We are working
hard to finalize our BETA testing and make sure that everything works
as it should before we make it publicly available.
We expect iCall to be available in the App Store very soon, in a
matter of few weeks.

if you go to their site thay have a link to facebook where they offer the program for beta testing but judging by the comments i don't think they actually are giving the app out.
It was a week ago i read the page but from what i can remember they hinted at the app being in the "strenuous" app aproval process.

I've tried all the VOIP the app store currently has to offer: Truphone, Fring, and PennyTel and with the exception of Truphone, the others suck big time when it comes to call quality. Fring(skype) and PennyTel both suffer from frustrating lags, echoes etc making them almost unusable. Fring especially was a big dissapointment for me. Truphone was problematic at first when I can't get a connection, but it seems they've improved their backend support and the calls are going through with reasonable quality. The only gripe I have is that there is no support to take incoming calls on Truphone yet.
Hopefully iCall will not be a dissapointment when it finally makes to the app store.
