I know you can read about OS X in help screens and online. But I like to have a hard copy in front of me to read. Can you guys and girls recommend a good cheap OS X book.
Thanks

David Pogue, Missing Manual OS X. Although it's for Jaguar, not panther.

I heard the Panther Missing Manual was going to be out in December, but I haven't looked for it. That would get my vote too.

two words: public library.
i second pogue's missing manual.
i read the one for 10.1 when 10.2 was out. i still learned quite a bit. after that, i hit barnes and noble to fill in the small differences while sipping coffee on sunday afternoon...

The "Panther Edition" of missing manual has indeed been released, I purchased it on Saturday (the time that I prurcahased iLife '04).
If it's out here in the UK, then it will definitely be available in the US.

Yes, the Missing Manual: Panther Edition has been out in the US since mid-December. It is a very fine text.

Go to Amazon.com, and do a search. They have great discounts on their books.

My vote goes to OS X Bible. Comprehensive and very easy to read.
