Purchased on day of release for iDVD and iPhoto. Pretty happy so far :)

What might have been interesting is to have split the votes into single license and family packs.
Buying the family pack where you have more than one machine may encourage Apple to release more software with a family pack option.
Heck, I'd settle for Apple allowing one desktop/one laptop (used primarily by the same person) on the "single" license pack.

Since I qualify for teh gov't price of $24.50, I couldn't justify not upgrading. I'd prefer free, but still . . .

I don't see the value in this upgrade, the free versions I have seem to work fine for me.
GB being a non issue since I played with it a bit in the store and assured myself that even with such an easy tool, I have no business trying to create music. Even *I* found my creations offensive.

yes (discount price), and having a blast with GB. iPhoto is much more responsive now (1150 photos). i don't use iMovie and can't use iDVD.

iphoto is a worthwhile update. In fact it has made playing with my photos fun again. Altho strangely no folders within folders :(

As for me, I got the Edu price mostly for GB and iPhoto, but I should get around playing with iMovie, I just have any video to edit.

I bought it at the edu discount here in the UK, mainly for the extra DVD hour and the GB, but I had a look at iPhoto for the first time, and I think it's pretty cool now, I've never used it before, but I'm going to now.
iMovie isn't a runner for me as I have FCP4, but my wife likes it better.

so far GB is pretty great (not without it's faults though) and iPhoto is a heck of a lot faster on my machine (just over 1000 photos) but i have not had the time to mess around with iMovie or iDVD yet although i will farely soon since i have a project or two that i'm going to need them for.

No, I won't, because I'm afraid that GarageBand and iDVD won't work properly or at all on my G3-iBook (which is not even a year old!).

Yes but I should point out i did it without humour, kicking and screaming would be another way of putting it.
Yes I know we went through all this when they released it but I only wanted the IPhoto upgrade.
And yes you are right I am sulking but I have the right to sulk cos I payed the money
I wonder if I could sell the other ILife apps ?

All I want is iPhoto, I'd happily pay $10 for it.
I really don't need any of the other software in iLife...

Can't get it- My iMac is too old (sob, sob!)
I just can't believe it won't work on a 4 year old 400Mhz computer! Honestly!
Well, just another excuse to convince my girlfriend that it really is time to get a new one!

i didn't get it. i went to the store with every intention to buy it, but was very annoyed to find out they didn't have any of the keyboards in stock, just the two display ones. and didn't have any idea when they would be getting them. then you look at apple.com/store and they are 4-6 weeks back for the cheap one. I'm getting really sick of apple pulling this. they knew it was coming up, wouldn't you think they'd stock up plenty of them?

I heard iMovie is faster, and read that iDVD can make 2 hour long dvd's. So That's why I'm thinking abou it. I already own logic, so I don't need to mess around with GB.

I don't have iLife '04 currently, but plan to purchase at some point. Who according to what Steve announces and how things go it could be with a new Mac.

I have 3 Macs, and got the family pack. I was motivated to do this largely by the fact that the family pack was only 50% more than a single license.
I found the Panther family pack offer far less compelling...

I bought it the first day it was available.
It seems a good deal, considering all the little upgrades plus GarageBand.

Not only did I buy iLife but since I had to make the 30 minute trek to pick it up at Fed Ex I brought my iBook with me. Did a little MacStumbler on the way up there. The iBook went crazy... :) a good 90% of the networks it found had no WEP enabled. I couldn't believe it.
Anyhow... after I got my package from FedEx I popped the install DVD into my iBook and let it install on the drive home. It was done by the time I got there... I think I'm going to do this all the time... saves me some time and anticipation. I'd have hated to get home and take the half hour to get around to playing with it... :)

I bought it the day of the keynote. I use all the apps all the time and was looking forward to the new iDVD. GarageBand is ok. I've played around with it but I have ABSOLUTELY no musical ability and can't put together anything of interest. I'll keep playing around with it but I won't use it for anything other than a time waster.
What really stinks is that my iBook SE 466 can't use ANY of the iApps. (Except iTunes) I guess it's time to upgrade.

I wanted to buy it today on my lunch break, but my local Apple Store (Costa Mesa, CA) was completely sold out of iLife! Not one copy in the store. They said it was a busy weekend for them and they'll get restocked in a day or two. :( Oh, well.

actually, other then my 1 Ghz iMac, i also installed it on a 400 Mhz G3 and GarageBand works. i used the DVD because i have a DVD/CD drive in it, and although it runs a bit slow, it still works.
i haven't tested out the other parts of iLife on it because i don't have any photos or movies to edit on there anymore, but it could only be better.
it does say 600Mhz G3 or higher, but it did work on mine. keyword there mine, but if you buy it and it doesn't work blame me:p

Hmmm...
iLife Single = $50
iLife Family = $80 (A 60% increase)
Panther Single = $130
Panther Family = $200 (About a 53.85% increase)
Panther is a more compelling offer....
Anyway, at the Roosevelt Field Apple Store, they were sold out-so i went to CompUSA and bought it there.

I'm buying it solely for GarageBand - that's worth over $49 on its own, in my opinion! Oh, and I guess I get brand new versions of iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD as well - hmm, what a nice bonus for Jobs to throw in for me!

For $29 I couldn't resist. Garageband is pretty cool, and I think the new themes in iDVD are really cool. Looking forward to trying them! I only wish the 2-hour DVD capability had been available before. I was working on a project late last year where I really could've used it! Glad they added that functionality, though.

I bought it without even using many of the programs even thoug hI want to. iMovie 3 was terribly slow. iMovie 4 seems to be a little better. iPhoto is great! Very fast like stated. Garageband is soo much fun! It is the reason why i bought it. Now all I need to do is bu ya keyboard and it will be tough to ever get me off my mac.

I have a iBook G4 800 but want to get an external firewire dvd burner and use iDVD with it.
I've only had a glance through the info pages about iLife04 and only see burning to dvd requires a superdrive. Has anyone else burnt discs using this configuration or will I have to bite the bullet and buy a powerbook? (with free iLife :-)
