Hey!
Apple just released updated RAW support - it covers my D700 (yay!), Canon 1000D, the Olympus E520, and others.
Finally!!
It's available in your Software Update, or from Apple's website (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/digitalcamerarawcompatibilityupdate22.html).

Is this the first time RAW support was added for new cameras as a stand alone software update? In the past it was part of a Mac OS X point update. I notice this only requires you have "10.5.3 or later".

I am pretty sure I've seen it done this way before - but it's possible my mind is playing tricks on me.

I was surprised to see the Canon XS (1000D) on this list, since the XSi has been supported for a long while now. I didn't think they were all that different.

These things take time, how long has the D90 been out?

It's not the first time. Usually it's wrapped up into a system update but when the stars don't align, it's a separate release. The first (I think) was the update to fix the Canon RAW engine issues and add Nikon D80 support way back and this is the third standalone RAW update this year.
