I can't get "type on Bottom" in circle in Illustrator CS3

I have figured out how to draw the elipse and then do a type-on-path to get the type to go outside and on top of the circle drawn. This I can do.

But I can't do a separate circle with the type on bottom, going INSIDE the circle.

. I have the Weinmann Illustrator manual page 224, and I tried this and tried this... just can't figure it out. I feel the book is too advanced for me or something.

I've got an elipse circle drawn, want to stick that type in the inner circle ..... now what?

Step by step, for a beginner would truly be appreciated.

the book is not helping me on this.

thanks!

its been awhile since i have done it... but you need a seperate path (elipse) inside the first circle. then you type your text, and there will be a handle at one end of text. grab it, and slide around, it will shift text along path, and allow you to do outside or inside of path....
