What to expect from Photokina?

Seeing all of these recent camera announcements had me under the impression that Photokina was underway. However, I just looked into it and see now that it won't even start until a week from today. Is Photokina a venue at which brands make big announcements? Are some of them holding off until next Tuesday?

The announcements normally come before Photokina starts. I assume so that people are motivated to come to the companies booth.
