Are all iPod touches coming 2.1.1 out of the box? What is the current firmware for the ipod touch on itunes? 2.1? 2.1.1?

My Brother found one last night and it was 2.1.1 and i found that to be strange...

What's the fix in 2.1.1 that 2.1 didn't have?

Mine came with 2.1.1 and shows up in iTunes 8 as up to date with 2.1.1

i don't know that. but it is just released version for new one. I think that everything is the same like other 2.1 version. now old touch is 5F137, new touch is 5F138, iphone 2G, 3G is 5F136.

iPod Touch 2G = 2.1.1 iPod firmware

iPod Touch 1G = 2.1 iPod firmware

iPhones = iPhone 2.1 firmware
