problem with sonyericsson t616 bluetooth

i hv a g4 ibook with BT. i have paired my sony ericsson t616 phone with it. But when i try to browse files from my cellphone, it just freezes. I have to restart (the cellphone not the ibook)it to make it alright.
Any clues anyone, or did anyone have the same problem?

This does not happen on my T610 (basically the same phone iirc). I'm not sure if there are some settings on the phone you could tweek to try and help...

I dont have this problem either it is probably the phone. Go to cingular or whetevr ask them for an exchange. Tell them that the phone freezes. coudlnt hert to try. By the way t616 a cool fone.

You may go to Sony Ericsson's website and see if they have released an update for your phone's software.

This was a problem with early firmware versions.

Type this at the main screen to get to the service menu:
> * < < * < *

"<" and ">" mean side joystick.

The current firmware version is R4Cxxx, if you have anything earlier than R3Cxxx contact your local Sony Ericcson service centre about an upgrade.

i have R1A!! i cant find any updates on the website. I will try to find a service centre.

shucks man..i called up sonyericsson to findout where can i upgrade the firmware..someone really dumb answered the call.her first statement was "we dont support mac"..anyways after persuading her that they do..she said 'why would you want to browse files on your comp with your cellphone? bluetooth is ONLY to use the phone as a modem..we DONOT support browsing. and anyways browsing files on a comp with a cellphone DOESNOT make any sense.."

I wouldn't sweat the firmware until you follow these directions PRECISELY:

I did this to set up my t610 on T-Mobile GPRS, and it works a charm, both for accessing the internet using my bluetooth-equipped iBook G4, but also for browsing the phone's files from the computer.
