I have two iPhones and one of them is under warranty and the other one is broke. (see thread: Spinning Wheel Of Death (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=565444))
I have decided to swap the cases and send the broke one into Apple for warranty repair. Are they going to know?

How is the one that is "broke" not under warranty?
Sounds like the worst plan ever.

Well with an attitude like that, it's a wonder anyone replies to you at all. I for one, will stop.
*EDIT* Come to think of it, maybe you should stop taking phones apart and expecting Apple to foot the bill. There's your answer. Azz.

you had a sarcastic answer to a question i didn't ask. i won't miss you... fanboy
Here, I'll answer my question for me. No, Apple will not know. There are no trip wires, just put it back together carefully.

I'm pretty sure they will know. There are many telltale signs that you may not even be aware of that they will recognize. Mainly because you, most likely, do not have the correct tools (tools that Apple probably had machined just for them specifically for opening iPhones) and will, in the process of opening the case, bork it.
I wouldn't recommend it. Way more trouble than its worth.
