Brand New Macbook Startup Problem

I just bought a new macbook yesterday and im having startup problems. Once the apple screen appears with the loading animation it goes to a blue screen and stays! I have to shut the screen and reopen it like ten times before it will finally load and go the desktop. If i leave it open for like 10 minutes it will finally startup. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm using 10.5.5

Have you done the 10.5.5 upgrade thro software update and not by downloading the combo version. If so download the combo version and try again since this is not normal.

If it came pre-loaded with 10.5.5 then send it back........
