The iPod Touch comes with OS X apps like Mail, contacts, calendar, etc...

But I've got all of those features, and more set up with Google.

I'm a Google guy and have everything set up with Google. From mail, reader, news, GCal, notebook, docs, maps, etc...

I know the Google App from the App Store would be the best answer for me, but I'm wondering if there is anyway I can get rid of Apple's OS X icons on the home screen for it's mail, address book, calendar, etc icons..?

aww man

i'd really rather not take that route...i guess its not that necessary but still, i dont use address book, ical, etc at all. my life has been set up with google in case i need to access it from any computer i'm at. and i can vouch it's really helped. if i used OS X apps i'd be screwed when i needed documents, pdf's, contacts at my university, or when i was on the other side of the U.S. or when I was in Asia.

Argggh!
