NEW Soundtrack 1.2 (with midi input) vs Garageband

Now that Apple has released the new version of Soundtrack which records midi inputs rather than solely manipulating loops, is there any point in buying Garageband if you've already purchased Soundtrack?

Soundtrack 1.2 doesn't record MIDI, it syncronises to MIDI clock, a completely different proposition.

You can sync to a MIDI app like Logic, but you can't record MIDI info.

I'd like to see ReWire implemented, then I could run it all through ProTools.
