View Full Version : Which Screen Protector Do You Like The Best?

Since there seems to be several threads scattered around about screen protectors, I figured I would make a poll, and maybe keep the screen protector discussion in here. I am just trying to figure what people use and recommend. I myself have the Power Support Crystal but the fingerprints are really bad, I have used the anti-glare for a day, but I couldn't handle the graininess. I am thinking about trying to anti-glare out again. What about everyone else, what are you using?

I like the crystal film from Apple, but so many cases make the screen protector come up at the edges and you get a bubble underneath. I like the Incase slider and the Agent18 case, but they both make the screen protector look so bad.

Does the SGP anti-fingerprint leave the color looking grainy like the Power Support anti-glare? And also how is putting it on, are there a lot of air bubbles? I might pick one up

My question is how is the Brando for fingerprints? I never had a problem with Power Support for quality, just the crystal leaves way to many fingerprints and smudges. I bought the anti-glare tonight, and will try it out for a bit.

SGP A/F is an anti-glare film like P/S anti-glare.

Have an Invisishield on my iTouch and Crystal on my iPhone.... If I had to choose, I'd say the Invisishield is stronger, but the Crystal is WAY quicker and easier to install.

The Brando Ultra Clear protector is glass-smooth and collects fingerprints just as easily as the iPhone's screen without a screen protector. Their anti-glare version is far better in this respect, showing only the greasiest fingerprints and nothing else.

A little bit of graininess, but I've ceased to notice it at all and it doesn't detract from watching videos or any other activity. It's only apparent when holding it side-by-side with another iPhone with no screen protector, and that's it. See for yourself - all pics of my 3G iPhone on my site are with the Brando anti-glare protector installed...

I tried the power support crystal (shows way too many fingerprints...as bad as naked screen) and the power support anti-glare (which imo is just too grainy...blurry almost). I just installed a bodyguardz screen protector and am thrilled with it. It is not TOO tricky to install (the back protector is though). I couldn't have asked for a better solution. It shows minimal fingerprints if any and is crystal clear. It looks awesome without the orange peel look of the invisishield. Bodyguardz is charging $14.95 for 2 front protectors (plus shipping). http://www.bodyguardz.com/Apple_iPhone_3G_p/iphone3g.htm?Click=9273

Does the bodyguardz come with anti-glare? I am curious because I just want something that doesn't show fingerprints to much but isnt too grainy like power support. If it does have an anti-glare how is it compared to powersupport, is it as grainy as their version?
My problem with Power Support anti-glare (to explain my reasoning) is that they have changed their formula or something has changed for sure. My friend has the original iphone PS anti-glare, and I have the 3G PS anti-glare, we put them side to side, and mine had a definite rainbow effect and is more grainy, which is really annoying while surfing the web. I just put a order in for the Brando anti-glare, hope that clears the rainbow effect, and gives me a little more clarity.

The bodyguardz does not come in anti-glare but curiously doesn't show fingerprints that easily. It is like having the naked screen but without the fingerprint issue, which to me is the perfect solution.
I have used Brando screen protectors going back for years (back in the old palm pilot days) and they are superb so you should be fine with those.
Someone else asked about "orange peel" look and to answer that question, it just has kind of a dimpled look when viewing from an angle. It doesn't appear too smooth...kind of annoying to me but some don't mind it.

I ordered a Brando anti-glare, but in the meantime I took off the power support anti-glare I had on before because I couldn't handle the rainbow/graininess, and I put on one of the Switcheasy screen protectors that came with my Neo. I never put the Switcheasy protectors on my phone because I thought they sucked, but I am actually really impressed. I like them way better then power support crystal as they don't show fingerprints as easily. If the brando doesn't work for me I'm going to go back to the Switcheasy, anybody who has em should try them out.

I've used a TON of screen protectors trying to find the best one, and I can honestly say I've narrowed it down to ONLY ONE that is worth having.
It very well may come down to personal preference... like whether or not you like the anti-glare or crystal look, and whether or not you care about finger prints or not.
HANDS DOWN, if you want absolutely ZERO FINGER PRINTS on your screen, there is only 1 screen protector worth having, and that's the:
Power Support Anti-Glare
It will not show any finger prints, it looks clear when the screen is turned on, and is smooth when using the touch screen. It applies to the screen VERY easily. It does NOT attract dust like a lot of screen protectors do. I keep mine in the front left pocket of my jeans, filled with lint, and never have anything on the screen or "in-case" silicon case.
Other revirews:
Power Support Crystal: Horrible. This screen protector leaves every mark, smudge, finger print, and dust particle on the screen from anything that contacts it. DO NOT BUY IT. It's crystal, so it is clear and shiny looking, but a real hastle to keep clean. If you're like me, you have just a little OCD to you and it will drive you nuts.
SGP Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint: Comparable to the Power Support Anti-glare screen protector, except it still shows finger prints every now and again. Not bad at all, but not as good as the Power Support Anti-glare. Anyone saying otherwise simply must have never tried the power support one.
Invisible shield: Garbage. Tried this, it began pealing, was very cheaply made, and not thick enough to really protect the screen appropriately. Personally, I thought it still left tons of smudges and finger prints and was annoying to look at.
Buy the anti-glare power support and neer look back.

Yeah it all comes down to whether you like the anti-glare or clear kind. We can't really say the PS Crystal is better than the anti-glare. We have to compare apples with apples.. (hey... apples hahaha)
anyway, if you like anti glare better, you should tell which anti-glare product is your favorite. And if you like clear better; which clear is your favorite. kk

I had the Powersupport Crystalfilm, and just replaced it with the SGP Antifingerprint. The biggest difference is that the Crystalfilm is a better fit, less exposed screen around the edges. Both are very good, but the Crystalfilm is a better fit. If I had to say which one is more clear, I think the SGP might be ever so slightly clearer, but I am not really sure. They seem very close to me.

Power Support Crystal
I tried the matte but I hate the feel on it compared to the crystal film.
The reflecting screen... on the other hand did not bother me.
Both Power Support protectors are a little thicker than some of the others I have tried. Another thing that I really liked about the PS Crystal film is that it's really virtually transparent. Side by side with my cousin's iphone without a screen protector, neither of us can tell a difference.
And yes, the iphone 3G screen does scratch easily. Even by delicate use. My girlfriend's phone had minor scratches showing up probably gotten from her large earrings. That was only after a week of owning the phone!

Not with either of the ones I've tried. I used an iPhone with the Zagg Invisibleshield the other day, that was terrible. The screen protector was on good, and looked OK(nothing like the SGP or Power Support though), but your fingers just wanted to stick and drag across it. It would have taken me about 10 seconds to take that one off and throw it in the garbage.

I also like this screen protector over the PS Crystal Film. I however don't like how long it took for them to ship.. 3 weeks!! But they made up for it, in the quality of the screen protector. I've had the PS Crystal on for a good 2 months. Till a couple days ago I applied the SGP Crystal.. and wow!! It's really clear, fingerprint wise a bit better then the PS. I also like that they included a squeegee and a microfibre cloth ;)

i used to shop overseas a lot and i assume that delivery works fast within domestin but not for international..
i mean those stores usually ship out my orders next day but if it becomes an international shipping, how fast they ship out does not really matter, it is all about the custom......
i've bought a pair of shoes from italy, the store shipped it next day of my purchase but it took 4 weeks after they shiped out...
i don't know why custom and post office take so long for inspection...

Anyone using an Incase Slider with a screen protector? I had the Case-Mate protector (which I liked) but the slider pushed up the edges all the way around and I had to take it off. I tried the Ghost Armor but I didn't like the gummy, tacky feel of it. Then I tried the DLO protector that comes with the Jam Jacket and the Incase Slider pushes it on the top.
Now I'm back to square one and looking for a non-fingerprint attracting, no-rainbow having, orange peel-less, screen protector.

I couldn't agree more. I got the Invisible Shield for my iphone and hated the results. I was very particular with the installation of the complete body shield but it never really looked like it should, ie. basically invisible. Within 24 hours I removed the rear shield, another 48 hours later I removed the front shield because tiny bubbles (like an orange peel) never went away. Next I got the iSkin Solo and love the feel and looks. I did apply the front shield from the Solo but once again, I wasn't completely satisfied.
Today I got the Power Support Anti-glare shield and love it. Install was VERY easy and appearance is great. No finger prints, no bubbles. It is very easy to believe there is nothing on the the LCD screen. This is a keeper.
