New Incase Slider colors coming out in 1-2 weeks... [Archive]

As many people are, I'm having trouble getting my Incase Slider off my phone. It seems stuck.

I called Incase and the guy blabbed for a good 9 minutes about how so many people are having trouble with the case, and bla bla bla.

So anyway he told me that I could fill out the form online and they would send me a new one for free, and that I didn't have to return the one I bought.

But he also said I could wait another 1-2 weeks for them to come out with the new colors (He mentioned aluminum and copper, and said there would be some more as well) and I could get one of those for free.

So I think I'll keep my Slider for now and wait to get the Aluminum or other color that they may have that I might like.

Just wanted to let you all know.

yeah I've seen a bunch of their new ones they are releasing and they look great. They have a bunch of matte / earthy colors coming out.

I've called them on this one. They told me they were having problems with that particular one and might not be released. That's a reason why might only see solid colors.

I've never uploaded pictures before on here so how would I do it? Also, it is neither glossy or matte. All i can say is it looks awesome and the bottom is easy to come off right off the bat unlike the white one that took a couple weeks.

When you click on Post Reply or Quote look below the Submit Reply & Preview Post buttons for Additional Options > click Manage Attachments > Browse your pc for an image > repeat if needed > click upload.

I think you'll find with Incase that not everything they carry is on their website. Baseline product, yes; color variations, not always. A similar thing happened with the MBP hardshell cases too - they debuted all these colors in store, but also only had black and white (clear) on their website for a while.

I knew I should have not posted anything because all these forums do is assume people are liars and making stuff up. I went to the Southlake Store in Texas and they had plenty. I used to work for Apple and we used to get products that would just show up and it is not even on Apple's website and not even shipping from the manufacture yet. Anyway, here are some pics to the non believers.....

Ya, the pics do not do it justice because of the light. In person though, it is perfect..... I just posted a new thread about some new bluetooth headsets made by contour that i picked up at Apple. Check them out. They rock!!!!!!

Just wondering, you had a post earlier and you said it's neither glossy or matte. Can you be more specific on what's the texture? Is it a lint magnet? Easy to slide in the pockets and take out? Still the same thickness just like the black matte and white glossy finish for iPhone 3G I presume. I like to try out that case, I might probably need your help hehe

Mac sterling, one last question....how hard is it to remove the bottom and the whole case itself....is it super tight, or does it slide off with ease, and is perfect fit, because if its easy, i switching my crappy matte one tomorrow...please get back to me

It is not a lint magnet.. It has a smooth finish and easy to get in and out of packs. Feels great in the hand... So far it shows no signs of smudges or scratches etc. It is the perfect case... I have several for different occasions...

I also recommend the Switch Easy colors too. They are the best silicone cases on the market and do not attract lint and are simple with no designs on the back. they even come with a protector for the headphone port and the bottom port to keep dust out of it. I also love the hard home button they have on them... Feels great. I can easily pull this in out and out of my pocket easily too.

Just ask them if it says Gun Metal on the back... If it is different then post pics when you get it. They are supposed to get an aluminum I think too

I like the Gun Metal and Silver so it doesn't really matter to me. But if it's not the Gun Metal, I will post pics when I get it.

Of course, they release this in different colors shortly after I've purchased mine. :rolleyes::p Guess I'll have to stop by an Apple store shortly to check this out - I'm a big fan of gunmetal in general, though I'm loving the matte black one I already have...

I found it totally disappointing. I own the black matte version. Compared to the black one, the gun metal finish is totally different. It's almost sticky to the touch, not velvety like the black one, and not smooth like the white version. It felt like it was painted and the paint had not dried.

My gun metal is perfect. Not sticky like one said it was painted on. Mine is very smooth and no fingerprints like glossy ones and won't peel like the matte one. I've had mine for a couple days now and everyone I show it to wants one because it looks amazing. No flaws whatsoever. Of course not every case is gonna be perfect since i'm sure they are made on an assembly line of some sort.

the gun metal won't peel because it's not made of that matte rubberish stuff that always peels after awhile. Some sooner.

I just exchanged my black matte for a Gun Metal and I like it. InCase is also sending me a replacement black matte because my other one was stuck and they told me I could keep the other one! So I returned it for the gun metal and I have a black matte on the way lol.

I mean absolutely zero offense by this, and don't intend to be an ass, but we could all just stop by our local Apple stores :) This way you can really see if it's what you want, and hell, you might run into some other stunning color that catches your eye!

Just went and picked up a Gun Metal Slider. Very nice case, smooth and the color just rocks. Mine isn't tacky at all. Nice case. So I now have a Black Neo, Black Rebel and Gun Metal Slider. I think I'm done...

Hey i was wondering if the gun metal slider fits with a bestskinever or any type of invisi shield? i also have a black neo, tiger rebel and some colors cases and those work fine with skins. I wanted to know if it would work with the slider?

The Gun Metal Slider is a bit larger than the black and white slider but there is still no way in hell it will fit with a back skin on there, unless you cram it up there and plan on never taking it out without breaking the case. My BSE came off. :)

There's something wrong with my Gun Metal Slider.

When I try to pull off the bottom of the case, it sticks to the phone and the phone slides out from the top with the bottom still attached.

First, I couldn't get the phone out of the top part of the case because it was stuck, now it's the opposite. Sheesh.....

I did have a problem with white coming off but I have not had this issue with the gun metal one. My white one eventually got easier to remove after a week or so. Don't take this the wrong way but no one notices scratches on the phone if ur going naked. You have to look closely to see them anyways and u can't see them when the case is on so what does it matter anyways. You could always go to the genius bar and swap it out.

i guess i have to take off my Bestskinever. I still have one left from the replacements they sent me. The way i think of it, i really have no need for the rear piece because i always have a case on my phone, and when i dont its in my incase folio.

This is my first time posting here but I just had to say I love the gun metal slider! The color is great and I can actually fit my extra PS anti-glare film on the screen. I had a matte black slider too and it fit perfect but the area around the screen seemed smaller and tighter so the PS film always had bubbles on the corners but not with the gun metal!:D

I stopped by my local apple store today and exchanged my peeling matte black slider for a gunmetal one. I really like the color, but I don't know why people would think that this one won't peel. It has a color coating over a glossy black base, just like the matte black one, so I suspect that it will peel as well. Only time will tell I guess. My first black one started peeling after a week, and the second one took 2 weeks before it started to peel.

I just picked up the white slider. Looks and feels great. The top main piece went in pretty smooth. However the bottom part always gets stuck on the phone when it try to take it off. Hopefully it loosen over time.
