Getting the 3G

Anyone know the best way to acquire a 3G w/o a contract? I hear a lot of eBay's coming...but anything besides that? Thanks...

Get an O2 Pay As You Go, and Unlock it (if possible, i know theres the hardware way aswell)

You can buy it in several European countries "legally" unlocked-- Italy and the Czech Republic to name a couple. But if you're in the States, that's not too practical a buying plan.
