Nokia phones are great phones, they are known for excellent reception and toughness.

My mom had the same Nokia for 4 years, dropped it several times and still had great reception, it beat out my iphone original, blackberry pearl, and razr.

A few things:
1. Wow, those boycotters must be badass and really hate Nokia to destroy things that are really old.
2. I would like to point out how many times that guy had to hit those old phones WITH A HAMMER to break them. That's some sturdy construction.

I am an Apple fanboy, but Nokia makes damn good products. My dream has always been a Nokia or HTC hardware with an Apple design and UI... Yum...

Nokia can advertise that it is the #1 phone maker in the world because it is. It has over 30% of the world market share. You have the right to your own opinion, but you don't have the right to your own facts. It sells the most phones, ergo it is #1.

In the overrall scheme of things, Nokia is still on top, due to their wealth of experience. I had my first mobile phone back in 1996, so their knowledge base goes way back.
As cool as the iPhone is, it's OS is still finding it's feet and needs time to mature. No doubt, it shook the industry to it's core, and everyone is trying to respond.

In terms of making phones, yes Nokia is far superior than Apple.

Take the OS out of iPhone, and most of us would probably prefer a 3310 over it.

You germans should seriously try to learn with the new global economy. You keep losing high-tech jobs until you have no left until you learn to do business in this new global economy.

Nokia was the last high tech company that actually made consumer electronics in Germany. They couldn't afford it anymore. Get over it. Now you guys need to learn to keep the highly educated & high pay research and development jobs of hig tech industry. You might wanna check out Nokia's home country (Finland) that thrives in this new economy while maintaining the high european standard of living.

Or you could just keep up your silly boycotts and see rest of your stagnant economy go down the drain.

Worst possible forum to post this on ever.... But to answer your question, nokia is tough and so is the iphone, nokia has nearly perfected traditional phones and apple has amazing new ideas. All in all, they both are great companies that (in my experience) work hard to meet the needs of customers
