Ok im a newb to this iphone hacking and i have researched my question with no answer. Here is the deal. I recieved two iphones from friends that i bought of them. One had a sim card in it and i could access the phone even though the sim was turned off for no use. The other didnt have a sim. I could hack the first one because i could get into itunes and restore and use winpwn. The other is stuck on emergency contact and itunes wont recognize the iphone saying that it has a incorrect sim or that i have to activate the phone. What can i do to get past this to unlock and jailbreak the phone..Im stuck. I have at&t and have tried putting my working sim from my blackjack into the phone with no success and i have another unactivated sim from at&t that doesnt work (3g sims) so whats the deal please help
Thanks

Make a custom firmware using winpwn with activation and unlock if its an original iphone and if its an iPhone 3G then don't click on activation.

Follow the DFU instructions on winpwn or on my FAQ stickied at the start and then iTunes will detect the phone and ask you to restore it. You click on shift and restore and chose the firmware and restore.

Its very simple its in the FAQ.

The invalid SIM/activation is because the phone is locked and the SIM you put in the phone is not one that the iPhone will accept.

i have both winpwn and quick pwn. Which one should i use. Dont i have to have the bin folders and a custom firmware downloaded. I did that for the last one. I downloaded two bin files and a custom firmware ending in 5c1_Restore.
