New Apple In-Ear Headphones (not iPhone compatible??)

I was just looking at the product page for the new in-ear headphones, and couldn't help but notice they don't list compatibility with the iPhone. The 2nd gen iPod touch is listed, does that mean that iPhone compatibility is assumed? I mean what else would the built in mic be for?
 
I believe everything but the volume controls would be compatible. We'll find out soon enough.

Yeah I have some credit at the Apple Store and I want to get this, and it would be nice to have volume control. If not, oh well.
