Although the SDK is free, it's not free to get apps to your iPod. That's $99.

just register for an account. registration (online membership) is free. although you can only make apps, to have them on the ipod/iphone, you need to pay $99 per year to have it hosted on the app store.

To answer your question, the development environment is JocStrap (http://svn.saurik.com/repos/menes/trunk/jocstrap/)

As for hosting apps on cydia..its reletivly easy if u make your own RepoGoogle is your friend (http://www.google.com/search?q=Make+a+cydia+repo&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a)

Actually, using the iPhone SDK and putting apps onto your device can be free, just get a Code Signing Identity and use Terminal to sign apps and SSH them in.

man you need programming knowledge...it won't make apps by itself.

if apps made by themselves, no one would bother programming.

Next time please make a more descriptive title regarding your question. APPS I imagine, are not easy to make.

If you don't know how to program, then you might have a fairly long way to go before you're churning stuff out for the iPhone. :)

There's some fairly decent beginner's guides to Objective-C, C, whatever you fancy out on Google if you just search around.

The SDK makes apps. It made everything in the App Store.

Now you know why people get PAID to program. And why a lot of the applications that people think should be free aren't.

Nothing is ever just drag and drop.

You've gotta know what this means:

Anyway, the SDK documentation has everything you need to know if you've programmed before. If you haven't, then start with a language like Java or even Basic. Then move on to Objective-C.

Programming is more solving problems rather than actual code since the same concepts carry over to all programming languages (unless you're Objective-C).

Dude, you really have no idea how hard it is to develop applications. The title of the thread is pretty funny - "app maker". I don't want to be mean but your going to end up forgetting about making apps. To learn Objective-C enough to make even a simple application, you're going to be hard a work, learning the language for at least 1 or 2 years.

App maker.... hahahaha

I do hope you find enough interest to learn though! :D But then again - you made me laugh.
