I have a jailbroken 3G iphone, running 2.1. I was thinking about if I ever had to go back to non-jailbroken, what would I lose?
I know I would lose the jailbroken-enabled applications I use, but what about contacts, phone usage time, whatever other data that has been collected on the phone?
I don't use .Mac, iCal or any other program to knowingly capture contacts and the like.
Thanks,
-Chris

iTunes should backup all the major info, like contacts and calendar, even if you don't use iCal or Address Book, although if you turn them on, then you'll have a secondary backup. Most other data will be stored in the backup, provided you can use it to restore your phone, you will be fine, otherwise you'll have to start from scratch.

TEGThanks for your reply.
So are you saying that if I were to revert to non-jailbroken, the backup would be able to restore itself onto a non-jailbroken iPhone, even though the backup was created and updated while my phone was jailbroken?
Thanks for the clairification,
-Chris

yeah you'll be fine. everything that you have will backup that is not jailbroken software. I jailbroke mine on a previous version, then "un-jailbroke" it and got everything I wanted back. I'm about to jailbreak it again to version 2.1 :-)
