iPod 5g 30gb harddisk makes ticking sounds

Hi!

My brother bought an iPhone so he gave me his used iPod 5g 30gb. The iPod works fine, but when i transfer data or mp3 the harddisk makes a strange ticking sound.

When i use it to listen to mp3's or watch a video i don't hear ticks. Is the harddisk dying or is this normal? Thanks!

so i got a dying ipod for my birthday lol

i'll to find some info about replacing the HD, or just buy a new one :(
