ATV wont react to remote + other question

Hi!
Well I was just about to watch a movie on my Apple TV but for some reason it wouldnt show up in the library.. So I turned iTunes off and on hoping it would be. But it didnt. So I decided to turn the ATV off and on.. Except I dont really know how to turn it off so I just pressed play + menu butten for a while and then the library suddenly said Unknown something..
So I unplugged the ATV and turned it back on. And now it wont react when I press the remote. I have tried two different ones and none work. It just shows the main menu. Its weird because the tiny light on ATV blinks when i press a button, but it wont do anything..

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also.. Sometimes I cant edit the sync settings for ATV. The only thing i can change are the photos.. Does anyone know what I mean? :) I have been having some problems with this so fingers crossed someone can help me!

I've had this happen a couple of times. It seems to mean that the ATV believes that there is a linked remote, but doesn't recognize the one you are using as the correct one.

I believe that if you hold menu and the left/rewind button for about 10 seconds you'll see an image on screen that indicates the remote has been unlinked. At that point you should be able to use your remote (or any other remote).

If you want, you can go back into the settings and re-link your remote when you're done.
