Well, I need some help. I want to do a 4 way split view one that controls up and down and one for vertical. This will have "4 boxes" which will allow you to choose width for left or right, and up and down. But I don't want stuff off aligned. I want to keep each in align. Not each row or column adjust it's own, I want to have the vertical control the vertical across both, and vise versa for horizontal.

As for algorithms I don't even know where to start last time i used AquaticPrime, but I don't want to use this next time.

Thanks
Chris

It sounds like you want a split view within another split view, which is not uncommon. But the NSSplitView class isn't very flexible. I'd suggest using RBSplitView - it's a third-party replacement.

As for "algorithms" I'm assuming you're referring to serial numbers? Unless you're spending thousands of hours developing your product, I probably wouldn't spend more than a day or two figuring it out. The simplest route would be to create a hash (using MD5 or SHA1) of the person's name combined with some other string and then format the result to create the serial number. I've done it before and it works fine for simple things.

Just don't be the guy who stores the trial time period inside the preferences. I've seen apps do that (I want to say it was Disco) :p
