View Full Version : Are you a thread killer?

I found this question on another forum and thought the outcome was somewhat interesting (still active). Basically you answer the question in the subject. And if so, why do you think that is? The last one who answers is indeed the killer. Chances are, they're the only one that will know for sure.

Of course, I could be the thread killer :)

My stats regarding thread-killing are fairly impressive.
I'll go ahead and throw my hat in the thread-killing ring.

I sometimes think I am, so why should his thread be any different. I post what seems like constructive advice or a funny comment. All of a sudden, what had been an active thread gradually slips down the page and disappears, never to be noticed or revived again.

Any demi will tell you that my thread killing powers are so horrific, that I can kill a thread merely by naming it. ;) :p

i seem to have a good record of killing threads. Go look at my posts. they are all located at the end of threads.

Does writing the last post make you a "thread killer" or just "late to the party"?

Depends on when you post, I guess.

In PRSI that rarely exists. On the techie forums, we have a few of them.

We could use a good thread killer in the iPhone Forum. :)

We can hide them in the closet!

Or some sort of filtering that sends threads automatically to the wasteland. :)

YES.

OR.

Instead of the "New thread" button, we could have "Delete your account"?

I love blitzing a thread with logic to kill it.

:)

Still masked as "New Thread" of course. ;)

I've found that the most effective way to kill a thread is to jump in with an off-topic depressing personal story.

Whenever I attempt to kill a tech thread, there always ends up being semi-related followup questions. It's ridiculous.

Now what is the betting a mod comes in, posts 'I win' and then wastelands this making them the chief threadkiller?

Does a mod really want to be known as the Chieftain Thread Killer

I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those threads that never dies, it goes away for awhile and someone drags it back up, like Bacon (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=61613&highlight=bacon).:D

That thread never dies, it just takes someone to mention it to put it right back in the spotlight.:)
