Leaving for a 5 hour road trip(friend and i) and need something to keep my attention for that span preferably. I just got the iphone about a week ago so dont have much on here as of now, and apps are new to me. I am looking for games or anything else you think will keep my attention. Preferably free but I will buy if need to(if enough positive feedback for an app). Thanks

Thank you. Now I shall contribute to this thread productively. Cannon Game by Discovery Channel is a nice free game. As is Spinner Free and Squares. If you are willing to drop $5, Trism is a must, it might even still be on sale for $3.
And a quick shameless plug, iDice is only $.99 but if you enjoy yahtzee you'll get your $.99 plus more back in play time.

I think the dude who people view as critical was trying to say in his way, that the OP couldve just looked at one of the hundred or so game threeads here briefly and formed a quick opinion is all, he just didnt do it in the best of ways!

Galcon will keep you busy for a long long time!! Although the iPhone battery might not last all of 5 hours when you're playing that game.

Those stats are based solely on the app store rankings. Just because an app got a lot of downloads doesn't mean it is good. I believe the OP was asking for direct, 1st hand suggestions. If you are too lazy to make a recommendation or two, then just stay out of the tread. It really is a simple concept.

i actually thought those rankings would come in handy for the OP so they can see what is out there (new apps) and what some of the top FREE and PAID apps are......since, ya know, the OP sorta mentioned he wanted free apps but would pay if necessary.
so, all in all, i think i did more help to the OP than you have. :)

5 Hours huh? Let's see...Galcon is an interesting one, it's a simple Real Time Strategy game, each game lasts 2-5 minutes but it's VERY addictive. You should try out the free demo to see if you'd like it. If you can manage to have a good internet connection during the trip you can even play multiplayer online. Another good one for long periods of time is Chimps Ahoy, it's an interesting mix between Arkanoid and Pong (you control paddles on both sides of the screen to attack blocks and pirate ships and stuff), it has 100 levels and has that "Just one more stage!" addictiveness. There's a free demo for that too, only has a few stages. MotionX Poker is another addictive one - it's just playing poker with dice, casino style, but they bounce around realistically when you shake the device, and you've got goals to unlock other boards and dice and stuff.
These are the three games I play the most, that seem to have the most replayability even after lots of plays.
