need help downloading firmware

I bought the 2.1 firmware from apple and when I download it it says the network connection failed then stops downloading.

Have you ever downloaded any firmware for the touch before?

Mac or PC?

Unplug your router/modem for 30 sec and back in and see what happens

no I haven't,pc,and I tried to restart the modem and it didn't work

You definitely have a firewall issue. Hard to explain how to fix, basically shut down norton or any sort of program you have running in the bottom right hand of your screen, something is blocking your connection

that does not do anything because i have no anti virus. i also turned off windows firewall and my modems firewall.
