Iphone and iTunes

i just picked up the iphone today and went to iTunes to sync all my music. Everytime I go to iTunes on the ohone it wants to connect to the store by wifi. It cannot, how can I get the itunes to work without it wanting to connect to the store? I can't use any functions until it does.

do you have the correct date and time set on your phone?

if it is correct, could you try and set the date back one day manually (to yesterday) and try itunes from the phone again?

If you are trying to sync your music to the phone, you have to plug it into the computer and go from there. The iTunes on the iPhone is just the store. It doesn't access your music library.
