I'm having trouble connecting my Mac OS 10.2.8 to my PC running Windows XP. Both are connected to the router. I have windows sharing turned on. When I click Go>Connect to server it searches and searches and finally finds the ip address of my PC. When i select 'connect' it works for awhile and then gives me an error.

Likewise, when on my PC and i try to add a network place, I enter the ip of the mac just like as the sharing preference tells me to. I then get a box asking for username and password. I enter it as i do on my Mac and I cannot connect.

is there an easy way to connect the two together so i can share files?

There's a software called DAVE that makes it all simple for you. Never tried it though, so can't tell you whether it's good or not.
