i just figured out how to change icons and when i figured out it was so much easier that windows i went changing everything. how do i restore the icons (hard drive etc...) back to the normal?

You'll have to do folder/app icons manually, as far as I know.
For hard drives, you'll have to delve into the Terminal and delete the .volumeicns file in the root level of the drive.

IIRC go to the file of which you wish to restore icon, open information panel, select the icon and hit backspace and voila.
No idea how to do all the files in one go though...

i dont have a clue about the terminal stuff but thanks for the post on hitting backspace and it just appered, it was so cool. since ive got this powerbook, my pc has become a $1500 back up network hard drive. why cant windows be this simple!
also i cant seem to change the idisk icon but a lot of iconfactory icons come with an icon for idisk, any thoughts?
