The ideology attached to mac lovers seems to mostly be a case of "it's better because I don't have to actually do anything, like learn". Which is the general viewpoint of most people, I guess.

Interesting article. Lets see how it stands up with the M1710s replacement, completely ignoring all software (If I could be arsed into doing it, I would do the same with the rest of the Mac line, but I think this will be enough):
17 Inch MacBook Pro:
# 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
# nVidia GeForce 8600M GT
# 4GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x2GB
# 200GB Serial ATA @ 7200 rpm
# SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
# MacBook Pro 17-inch Hi-Resolution Widescreen Display
# Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide
Cost? $3,149.00

Dell XPS M1730
# Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 (2.5GHz/800Mhz FSB/6MB cache)
# Genuine Windows Vista® Ultimate Edition SP1
# 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
# Speed: 200GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) Free Fall Sensor
# Blu-ray Disc Combo (DVD+/-RW + BD-ROM)
# NVIDIA®SLI™Dual GeForce®8700MGT with 512MB GDDR3 Memory
# 9-cell Primary Battery and 9-cell additional Lithium Ion Battery
# Multimedia Cable Kit
Cost? $3,148.00

Which was obviously the case when I compared the two laptops above, yes? Dell's $2000 laptop is such a shitbox that all of the praise it gets for its design and structural integrity must be the result of successive acid trips. Ditto to other premium computer lines that still cost less than Macs such as Clevo or Alienware.

Macs (as well as Apple products in general) are expensive because they are fashion accessories. They do some things better than Windows PCs and some things worse, but don't stand there and tell me that Macs are more expensive because you paying for a better product. They are more expensive because you are buying into a culture, plain and simple. There is a reason the current Apple success story is essentially mandatory learning for anyone who wants to get a marketing or design degree.

Your entire post is one big troll after reading your first very misguided sentence. You assume way too much.

Also, beaten to death like 1000 times already.
