View Full Version : iCal doesn't sync anymore with my iPod Touch!?

When I use iCal on my iMac, no problems. I see everything and it is stable. I can even import data from subscribed calendars online, etc. All good.
I have always the latest firmware and MacOS updated on all my machines.
When I try to Sync with my iPod Touch, it simply doesn't work! For example, in me.com it recognizes all the Calendars' titles but NO ONE EVENT is imported! When I try to simply sync with my iPod, it shows only the standard Personal and Work calendars always without any event except the birdays dates (that I guess is taking from the Contact lists, that works and sync fine).
I have try to reset iPod, to reinstall iCal, to exclude me.com sync (what I need is to use my iPod as an agenda).
I have asked in an Apple Store nearby, but they can't help! They suggested to reinstall macOS 10.5.5 or to ask in a forum...
Thank you for your help,
max ;-)

What settings do you currently have enabled (or disabled) on the "info" tab within iTunes when your iPod touch is connected? I can't claim to have any experience with Mobile Me (don't use the service), however I currently use my iPod Touch to keep 3 computers calendars in Sync, so may be able to help with that.

Ok, I have disabled me.com sync for now, too. NB. I have to solve the simple Ipod sync prior to go further.
My setting inside iTunes are (I must translate from Italian):
- first 2 checkbox: open iTunes when iPod connected + sync only songs and videos checked
- under INFO TAB: main checkbox Sync iCal; check Selected Calendars only; "WORK" calendar only (for testing purpose I should try only this one); checked Do not sync events with more than 90 days (but I try already also without checking this).
Anyway, I have already try all combinations of settings possible... I have try also to reinstall from MacOS 10.5.5. And I have try to force to overwrite all Calendars on Ipod.

Hmm.
Perhaps try to un-select sync with calendars and contacts once, apply, then reverse those steps and then try to sync.
I had to do that with my newest Touch once after I got contacts working the first time. Outside of that, I am not sure why it refuses to be in sync with your contacts and calendars.
Are you using a Mac for these actions?

I would highly recommend to go on Apple's website and use the MobileMe chat. They can help you. I had an issue with syncing that I thought was totally unsolvable. They refused to close the chat until it was resolved. In the end they sent me a terminal script that fixed my issue, Apple's chat service rocks. So unless you like wasting the time reinstalling the OS and spend hours trying to figure it out I would recommend using the MobileMe chat.

Awesome suggestion!
An other option is Apple's discussion forums and post up the question (though you may mean that too). However the OP did state that they talked to someone at their local Apple Store about the issue, and received no solution (which would make me mad personally).

I use a iMac 24' G5 with 2GB RAM with my iPod Touch 1st gen. 16GB
I have posted the same question on Apple's Support Discussion Forum: threadID=1723807 ... but no help there, like in the Apple store.
I can't find the MobileMe Chat... may I have a direct link to that please?
Meanwhile, I'll try also "Perhaps try to un-select sync with calendars and contacts once, apply, then reverse those steps and then try to sync." and let U know.

I had to RESET the iSync Logs. You should open the iSync application (Utility) and then in Preferences: RESET the LOGS of Sync
After that, everything worked!

By the way: the chat service HERE:

Wonderful! Glad it all worked out for you however there is no such iMac 24" G5 made by Apple. Only the Intel iMacs were made in a 24".
