Sorry to sound pessimistic but these are worrying times.
Lets hope we can get out of this mess but we may spend a few years paying off those holidays, cars and houses we couldn't really afford because the money to pay for them never really existed in the first place. We just borrowed the future money supply and now the bills have to be paid but the trouble is there isn't enough money in the world to pay for it.
