Has anyone heard about this?
I find it hard to believe - although my home town hasn't changed that much. Only last saturday I was shopping in Westfield (new shopping centre).

On a lighter note for the kid, there will be a gathering in memory of him on October 9 (1 year anniversary of Westfield opening) which also happens to be my birthday.
My thoughts are truly with his parents.

Your thoughts?

I'm amazed that The Daily Mail *hock, spit* has managed to write an article which doesn't blame immigrants for everything or mention how it will affect house prices.

It is sad, pathetic, disgusting and much more, that people would actually urge someone to jump to his death.

This just makes me ill. There should be a law to prosecute those kids.

There is, but finding them might help.

WTF is wrong with this generation?! (my generation)

Honestly i beleive the youth of our time are becoming more and more disgusting in the way they act, and apparantly human life has very little worth anymore (maybe the delusion of invincibility has grown stronger?)

:mad:absolutly sickening.

So a small group of youths behave in an insensitive manner and you rush to condemn an entire generation?

You don't write for The Daily Mail do you?

Disgusting and sadly not surprising.
And the youth are getting more and more horrific like this. Even 2 years ago a gang of 20 or so junior school kids walked through our village pelting cars with rocks and trying to start fights, had nothing like that when I was that age.

Although one commenter blamed the "liberal marxists in control of government"

A deeply sad article. Sickening things happen, although this is in no way the norm or what the entire younger generation are like. I think the media and in some ways the government are very quick to generalize and condemn the young people.

My thoughts to his friends and family :(

I was just comparing the teens in the article with the people at my school.

Sadly this is not an unusual occurrence in the UK or US (and quite probably other places) a simple Google search will bring up many examples some from decades ago. There really are some very angry and very alienated people out there.( I liked the line about liberal marxists, wherever that came from, it shows a fine gift for insanity)

public suicide just screams attention wh... (especially if it takes you 3 hours... that's just asking for "get on with it")

might be harsh but if you want to do such a suicide at least do so without influencing others (what if children stood there etc.)

same with those jumping in front of trains having no respect for the train operator and all it's psychological consequences

That's incredible, the kids these days are horrific, there's no limits for them anymore, they know they can get away with anything, so they roam free, it's insane.

Excuse me?

It doesn't scream "attention whore" is screams, "HELP ME!"

This kid needed some help and it's disgusting, absolutely disgusting, that kids were egging him on to jump.

The point about my post ^^^ is it's not just "the kids these days" it's been happening for decades at least.

KIDS THESE DAYS ARGH!!!

In my day kids picked wildflowers and played in streams and only spoke when they were spoken to.

If I was the cops, I would turn to everyone who cheered, took pics, and said, "Next time your in trouble and need the police, don't call me!"

There was a woman who was threatening to jump from an I-5 bridge during the morning commute in Seattle, they had to eventually close down I-5 because people were yelling at her to jump as they drove by.

She jumped, and lived.

At least it's a quick journey for me :p

I do think it's unfair to associate all 'kids' with this type of behaviour though.
