How to remove icons from touch?

I recently just bought one. Sorry if this question has been answered already but I can't seem to delete an icon. I tried holding the icon down until it wiggles but the 'x' doesn't appear on the icon? Is there something I'm missing? Help would be appreciated.

Also when I try to download an app from the apple store it keeps saying "Authorization failed." something like that. If anyone knows, help a newbie out :D

if its one that comes on the ipod, u need to jailbreak in order to remove it.

try re authorizing your computer and then resync your ipod

No it wasn't that... it's just that I hadn't given my credit card info so it wouldn't let me download the free apps. Thanks for the help though.

you could of included that in your original post
