got this in an email from a friend that i convinced to get a powerbook.
any thoughts?
------------
I do have a Apple Q though: twice now the screen has gone blank and the
computer has
gotten hot and fan has been humming. The forced restart has done the trick
though. Have
you ever had such a thing happen to you?

Did the screen go to sleep? If he/she is a newbie, maybe that is the case.

seems like it was something more.
he said he had to force quit.

that actually happens with my iMac (400Mhz G3, 768MB RAM, OS 10.3.2) sometimes. the screen will shut off (powersave feature) after a few minutes and once in awhile, it just WONT' come back on. i have to press the reset button, then the problem is fixed.
couldn't tell you what's causing it, though.
