So, yesterday my teacher said we needed to work with OpenCV next week. He looked around and said to us which had a Mac; "There is no OpenCV for Mac, To bad - go Linux".

I started to look around, and found their mainpage: OpenCV - Right so there was this OS X thingy, which just leads to a bunch of apps they have, and their download page looks like this.

Dosen't really look like there is a officiel release, so i started googling around and found a port: http://opencv.darwinports.com/
Im not sure it has everything as the "real" one have, so i wanted to look abit more around and found a Wiki page for OpenCV: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCV

The funny thing is that it says: "The library is cross-platform, and runs on Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and PSP (using Nanodesktop)"

So.. erhh help? What should i do?

The darwinports version seems to match the sourceforge version. It seems like you should be OK. If your teacher says you should be doing it on linux, is a linux lab available? if so, can you access it remotely? Do you need to work with pre-existing videos, or do you just need to run code over live video? If the prior, you should be able to get everything done remotely. In the worst case, if you are building an X11 app on linux, you should be able to just run the X11.app on your mac and set up X-forwarding. If you need help achieving that, there's plenty of information available. The crux of it is to export your display on the remote machine to the address and 0.0 display of your mac, and allow remote X clients from the lab machine.
