Good advice. Seriously, if you can't save up to $229, the iPod should be the least of your worries.

It's never a good idea to go in debt and rely on the economy to get you out (unless you're a banker, if/when the bailout passes :p).

Why don't you just wait? The iPod Touch isn't really on the list of essentials to survive, like water, food and shelter are. I'm sure you can wait and save up for it like everyone else. It's not really smart to be using your credit card if you can't afford something (this coming from someone who is a lot younger than you :p ).

You aren't really thirty, are you? You're more likely between maybe 8 and 13, with little money, and a good vocabulary.

Tell lots of people (adults) you'll do odd jobs, establish a reputation of actually doing the work fairly well, and then save the money you get.
