Series 3 HD TIVO user with Mac Pro 10.5.4 and Toast 8. Am looking for software that can convert Tivo Transfer (Toast 8) files on my Mac into something that can be edited and eventually put into DVD, iphone or ipod format. (Tivo Decode Manager does not work on Series 3, at least I can’t get it to recognize mine.) Also mixed results with Tivo Decoder--get errors trying to decode bigger files. Happy to buy commercial products---just want reliability and quality end product.
Present challenge is taking nearly 8 hours of Wimbledon 2008 (3 Tivo Transfer files of 3, 10 and 48 gigs) and convert them eventually into DVD, which means ability to do editing. Have used Toast 8 previously to burn DVD’s that are 1-2 hours. Can’t do so with these odd sized files. Have read previous threads and still not clear. Don’t know much about video software in general….ie. MPEG 2 versus 4 subtleties. Geoff
