What is causing G4 noise?

I have a G4 Quicksilver that is making the loudest craziest noise all of a sudden. It sound like an AM radio station between channels. If i unplug my external speakers the sound comes out of my cpu speaker and if I plug in headphones the sound comes through the headphones. The volume control has no affect on the loudness. What is going on?

Not a solution, just a thought
I know that if I hold on to the jack to my speakers that I plug into my computer, they emit a hissing/buzzing noise.
Maybe you have dust or some other buildup on the inside of your computer around your sound card that is causing shorts?
