How To Get Iphone 3g With Family Plan?

So my question is that me and my family is about to start a family plan for 3. Im the only one looking to get a 3g while all of my family dont care what phone they get. So what im saying is if we start a new plan will my iphone have to get a plan on its on with the internet and calling plan or can i just activate a regular family plan and dont have internet for my iphone?

first, activate a family plan with those 2 lines, and then as another transaction at the AT&T store, tell them you want to buy an iPhone,and have that as a family plan line, make sure that one of the other phones is the main line.
you can have the data/text only on one line.They force you to have unlimited data on your iPhone line. but I think after 3 months you can cancel it. Which I find useless.

Yes, for awhile at least it seems. It sounds as if you might better off getting a iPod Touch and take the promo phone they are offering at the time.
